This collection consists of 6 volumes of account books belonging to Baltimore merchant Charles R. Carroll, circa 1821-1863.
Cheston-Galloway papers
This collection is primarily comprised of the business papers of Samuel Galloway (1720-1785) and his son-in-law James Cheston (1747-1798), who were both merchants based in West River, Maryland.

George Clinton Veazey papers
The George Clinton Veazey papers consist primarily of correspondence to Veazey regarding the business of the Susquehanna Canal, circa 1835-1838. The collection also contains a ledger listing the cargo of ships that passed through the canal, and miscellaneous Veazey family papers.

This collection consists of a xerox copy of a diary attributed to Henry Moore, a Baltimore merchant. The diary covers the period 1807-1809, and records his trip from Baltimore to Knoxville, Tennesse to establish a business.
Hicks correspondence
This collection contains correspondence to and from members of the Hicks family, 1833-1883. The primary correspondents include Captain Ratcliffe Hicks, his sons Charles R. Hicks and Alfred Hicks, his daughter Elizabeth Hicks Harding, and her husband, William Harding. The letters contain news on family and business affairs, chiefly news of sea trade.
Jesse Tyson & Sons records
Collection of papers relating to the firm of Jesse Tyson & Sons, Baltimore flour merchants. The firm also dealt in grain, tobacco, textiles, wood etc. with South America, the West Indies, Africa, England, Mexico, and United States ports, including Philadelphia, New York, Charleston, Alexandria, and Norfolk.
John Brice protest book
Depositions taken before John Brice, Deputy notary public, being statements of masters of vessels concerning loss and damage sustained by the party making the protest sealed by John Brice. Includes full copies of charter parties and agreements, with considerable data on the tobacco trade contained in the depositions.
Matthew Marine account books
The Matthew Marine Collection contains various account books which date from 1822-1870. The bulk of the material falls between the period of 1830 to 1854. The collection is made up of account books, ledgers, and day books. This material focuses on the merchant and banking aspect of Matthew Marine's career, but only casual mention is made of two schooners he built.
